Did You Know?

Myth:
If the victim doesn't leave, she must like the abuse...

Fact:
Abusers are very manipulative and often isolate their victims from friends and family. Many times the victim feels that they have no one to turn to, and stay with the abuser out of fear and desperation. Ironically, friends and family may even like the abuser because they don't know about the abuse. Sadly, victims worry no one will believe them if they try to get help.
Frequently, the victim's life is threatened if she tries to leave the abuser.
