Welcome to Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties (DVSCP)! DVSCP is a private, non-profit organization that was incorporated in May 1990 and has provided 24 hour a day unduplicated services to the communities of Cumberland and Perry counties since 12:01 midnight on July 28, 1990.

Vision and Mission

Vision Statement: We envision DVSCP as a culturally responsive organization committed to the eradication of domestic violence for all individuals.

Mission Statement: DVSCP supports the empowerment of those who are experiencing domestic violence through the provision of equitable and inclusive direct services and the promotion of nonviolence through social and systems change.

Know the facts about domestic violence!

There are many myths surrounding domestic violence. It affects women, men, children, all income levels, all races, and people of all backgrounds. It is important for individuals to understand the signs of abuse.

Myth:

Unless my partner physically hits me, I’m not in an abusive relationship…

Fact:

Violence takes all forms. It can include…

Emotional Abuse: Ignoring, humiliating, embarrassing, insulting, excluding or using social status as a weapon.
Verbal Abuse: Shouting, threatening, intimidating, or manipulating.
Physical Abuse: pushing, shoving, hitting, kicking, punching or threatening with a weapon.
Sexual Abuse: forced kissing or touching, any unwanted sexual acts, unprotected sex, and rape.
