DVS/CP offers a variety of prevention education programs. The programs fall into two categories: community education and school programming. Community Education: Speakers are available for civic, church, special interest, and community groups, in-service trainings, and police and medical personnel trainings. Programs are modified to fit the needs of the group. Topics include: What is domestic violence? Living in Shelter, Legal Advocacy, and Medical Advocacy. There is no fee for the programs or trainings. School prevention programming: DVS/CP presents prevention programming in Cumberland and Perry County schools. School programming includes topics such as the cycle of abuse, power and control, personal safety planning, identifying resources for help, and communication skill building.
