Carlisle, PA – September 29, 2020:  In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland & Perry Counties (DVSCP) has teamed up with Mechanicsburg-based Evolution Catering, LLC, to offer a week-long dinner delivery fundraiser. A survivor herself, Hope Stuart, owner of Evolution Catering, jumped at the chance to team up with the local nonprofit to raise money for the agency during a time when it’s needed the most.  With the cancellation of several key fundraisers, coupled with the added expense of hoteling clients rather than bringing them into the Shelter’s communal living space, this fundraiser is a welcomed event for DVSCP.

A savvy business-woman, Hope knew she had to adjust her business model or potentially lose the catering company she’s worked the past 4.5 years to build. Enter her dinner delivery idea.  Shortly after the pandemic began, Evolution Catering began preparing weekly menus, which guests can order and have delivered hot and ready to eat to their front door.

DVSCP and Evolution Catering have now joined forces, not only to raise money for the agency, but to help raise awareness of domestic violence, an issue Hope is all too familiar with.  Last December, Hope was brutally assaulted by a man she had been dating for 6 months, leaving her with short-term memory loss, among other issues associated with traumatic brain injuries. She admitted he was verbally and physically abusive prior to the December incident, which finally prompted her to leave for good.  Now she openly shares her experience in an effort to challenge the stigma that domestic violence only affects certain people.

“I went public about my assault because I felt it was important for others to know they are not alone,” remarked Hope. “There are others out there who understand what you are going through.”  Evolution Catering is donating a portion of each meal sold to DVSCP, which will go towards providing emergency shelter and associated services for survivors of domestic violence.

Participants in the Dinner Delivery for DV fundraiser have the option to order meals as many days as they’d like, but must mention they are supporting DVSCP with their order. The total cost of each meal includes food cost, delivery fee, and a small donation to DVSCP.  Making a donation has never been so easy or delicious.
